Director
Dr Damien Foong

  • Former President, Skin Cancer College of Australasia.
  • Over 20 years of clinical experience.
Dr Foong graduated from The University of Queensland, Brisbane, with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery, before continuing on to complete a Master of Medicine with a focus on Skin Cancer. After working as a general practitioner and managing director at a number of clinics across Australia, Dr Foong realised better resources were needed for those seeking skin cancer treatment and therefore established MyLab Pathology and the Logan Skin Clinic. Damien now coordinates with a team of over 50 doctors, laboratory technicians and support staff, while still operating as a general practitioner daily.
Pathologists
Dr Sarah Barksdale

  • Over 20 years of pathology experience.
Dr Barksdale graduated from the University of California, Berkeley, obtaining a dual degree in Biology and Anthropology. Subsequently, she completed a medical degree at the University of California, San Francisco, before pursuing a residency in Anatomic Pathology at the National Institutes of Health, the department headed at that time by world-renowned lymphoma expert Elaine Jaffe. Sarah followed an interest in skin biology and pathology to Harvard Medical School, completing a fellowship in dermatopathology under the direction of Raymond Barnhill, a prominent international melanoma expert. After becoming board certified in Anatomic Pathology and Dermatopathology, Sarah practiced dermatopathology in academic and private practices. After relocating to Australia, she attained fellowship in the Royal College of Pathologists and began her career with MyLab Pathology. Her fellowship training, professionalism and twenty-five years of experience offer MyLab clients accurate diagnoses presented in comprehensive but concise reports. Sarah continues to give back to the discipline by contributing to the literature and participating in expert panels.

Dr Glenn Baxter

  • Over 10 years of experience.
Before medicine, Dr Baxter had a career in science, gaining a PhD in molecular biology and genetics at QIMR and working as a research fellow for several years. He went back to study medicine and graduated with honours in 2002. After general hospital rotations, he began training in psychiatry but after a few years his love of science drew him to anatomical pathology where he received his fellowship in 2012. Glenn has been with MyLab part-time since 2013, and fills the rest of his week elsewhere in general histopathology.

Dr Krishnan Iyengar
  • Histopathologist
  • FRCPA
  • Over 10 years of experience.
Dr Iyengar obtained his MBBS degree in 1989 and MD (Pathology) in 1993 after specialist training in Anatomical Pathology and Cytopathology from India. He worked in a large teaching hospital in Pondicherry as an academic and consultant pathologist for eight years before moving to Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia to work in the University of Malaya. In 2011 he relocated to Australia, at first teaching students of medicine and dentistry of James Cook University in beautiful Cairns. He received the Anatomical Pathology fellowship of RCPA in 2016 and has been working as staff specialist in Pathology Queensland since. He has special interests in Neuropathology, Dermatopathology, Gynaecological pathology and Cytopathology and has publications in international journals in these fields. He loves reading, movies, trekking, badminton and cricket, but not necessarily in that order. He lives with his wife and son in Brisbane.

MyLab a dedicated team of scientists and laboratory technicians who skillfully prepare samples for our pathologists to assess. Their expertise include specimen dissection; tissue processing, embedding, and microtomy; and staining of tissue including immunochemistry and other special stains.
Courier Team
Our couriers are an essential part of our team, as they are responsible for delivering pathology requests swiftly and safely to the lab. We collect from over 30 locations daily and liaise closely with our practices to ensure we meet their needs.Our couriers are also responsible for delivering our stock orders, whether that be to a Brisbane location or interstate.
